The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, called on the United States and Western countries to remove any restrictions on attacks by Western weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation and to ensure uninterrupted supplies of weapons and ammunition. His statement was made during the briefing "War, Democracy and Parliament: Ukraine 2024" at Ukraine House in Washington.
Stefanchuk emotionally commented on the latest mass missile attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, in particular, on the "Okhmatdyt" children's hospital and the maternity hospital, showing images of lines of cars that were delivering aid to the hospital.
"Our partners should also learn this lesson of solidarity. At the border of Ukraine, there should be queues of cars with aid and weapons that arrive on time," he stressed.
Stefanchuk expressed the wish that Ukraine would have a guaranteed right to protection in accordance with the UN Charter and use it to its full extent. He also called for lifting restrictions on strikes on Russian territory by Western weapons and ensuring a stable supply of weapons and ammunition, including the need for F-16 fighter jets and pilot training for them.
In his speech, he emphasized that large-scale Russian airstrikes today resulted in a large number of victims and wounded in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk region. The United States and the European Union called for the investigation of the attack on "Okhmatdyt" as a war crime.
