Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna stated that "at least five NATO allies" are modeling a scenario of possible Russian aggression .
"We know for sure that at least five NATO allies are modeling such a scenario. Today, an article was even published in Politico, which appeals to the fact that it was the President of Ukraine who first very directly defined this perspective: that this war will not stop in Ukraine. And, in fact, we are now seeing public communications, in particular, from German colleagues, Estonian colleagues. This is reality - it is not a matter of speculation," Stefanishyna said in Brussels on January 25.
She noted that the most important thing for the allies is to "still learn the lessons of history and understand that this beast needs three to four years to regain its strength and increase its appetite.".
"And knowing this, we can make decisions. Ukraine is doing this, Ukraine is calling on its allies. And we hope that this will lead to strengthening European defense, introducing a system of unified defense procurement, introducing a unified EU policy on the defense industry, strengthening NATO itself, and making an appropriate decision regarding Ukraine. And this takes time and requires Ukraine's support so that we can endure until Europe becomes stronger," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
