The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna said that "at least five NATO allied countries" are simulating the scenario of possible Russian aggression .
"We know for sure that such a scenario is simulated in at least five NATO allied countries. Today there was even an article in Politico, which appeals to the fact that the president of Ukraine for the first time very directly indicated this perspective: that this war will not stop in Ukraine. And, in fact, we are now seeing public communications, in particular, of German colleagues and Estonian colleagues. This is reality – it's not a matter of conjecture," Stefanishyna said in Brussels on January 25.
She noted that the most important thing for the allies is to "still learn the lessons of history and understand that this beast needs three or four years to regain its strength and increase its appetite."
"And knowing this, you can make decisions. Ukraine is doing it, Ukraine is calling on allies. And we hope that this will lead to the strengthening of European defense, the introduction of a system of unified defense procurement, the introduction of a unified EU policy on the defense industry, the strengthening of NATO itself, a corresponding decision regarding Ukraine. And it takes time and needs Ukraine's support so that we can endure until Europe becomes stronger," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
