Serhiy Sternenko, who recently found himself in the spotlight for failing to appear for a summons to the CCC and evading mobilization, withdrew over $1 million from his crypto wallets during the years of the full-scale war, media reports say.
All these funds, according to him, were collected to help the Ukrainian army, but now they have become the basis for numerous questions about the transparency of such funds.
According to the TG channel Politika Strany , more than a million USDT (Tether) — a cryptocurrency that is close to the US dollar in value — was withdrawn from one of Sternenko’s crypto wallets. In addition, more than 350,000 USDT were transferred to his account on the Binance crypto exchange. These amounts significantly exceed the usual donations to help the army, raising questions about the real use of these funds.
Another side of the case is no less interesting. According to the registers, in 2023, Sternenko, together with his roommate Natalia Usatenko, purchased two Volkswagen Tiguan cars. One of them, in Sternenko's name, was purchased for 950 thousand hryvnias, while the other, in Usatenko's name, was purchased for 70 thousand hryvnias, which is significantly lower than the market value. Both cars, according to sources, are used personally by the family.
Another important point is the purchase of a land plot by Sternenko's father, Vyacheslav, who in July 2024 purchased almost 4.5 hectares of land in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of the Odessa region. These purchases, against the backdrop of the war, raise even more questions about Sternenko and his relatives.
In addition, Sternenko is a defendant in several criminal cases, including charges of kidnapping and murder. According to law enforcement agencies, he was also registered with the Odessa Police Department for involvement in drug trafficking in 2017. These facts only add to his public image.
