The court decision to seize the property of Oleg Tsarev, a former People's Deputy, was adopted at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine. According to the SBU, the arrest includes an apartment in the center of Dnipro, a plot of land in the Kyiv region and two property complexes in the occupied Crimea.
In particular, the arrest concerns the sanatorium "Kirova" and the museum "Estate of Princess Baryatynska", where Tsarev is currently staying. The total value of the seized real estate is almost half a billion hryvnias, the press service of the SBU reported.
The SBU also emphasizes that the seizure of property will prevent attempts to re-register it to other persons to avoid further confiscation.
After the occupation of Crimea, according to the SBU, Oleg Tsarev reorganized his Crimean sanatorium in accordance with Russian legislation and pays taxes to the Russian budget. In addition, he concluded a contract with the Rosgvardiya division for the installation and maintenance of technical means of protection of two Crimean objects, and the money for these services is paid to the bank accounts of the occupying group of the Russian Federation.
In addition, Tsarev was charged with financing actions aimed at changing the borders of the territory or the state border of Ukraine. It is known that he is in the occupied territory of Ukraine.
This is not the first time Tsarev has come under the scrutiny of law enforcement agencies. In May 2023, he and two other former members of the "Party of Regions" were charged with treason under martial law.
