A court in Kyiv sentenced a hospital security guard to four years in prison for refusing to open the storage room door during the shelling

The Kyiv court passed a verdict against a hospital guard who was sentenced to four years in prison for his role in the tragedy that occurred on June 1, 2023, during the shelling of the city.

Then, let's recall, three people died, including a 9-year-old girl.

The man was found guilty of "knownly leaving without help persons who were in a life-threatening condition and deprived of the opportunity to take measures for self-preservation due to the helpless condition, if there was an opportunity to provide them with help."

"The accused did not admit his guilt, he did not repent of the committed criminal offense," the city prosecutor's office reported.

It will be recalled that during that shelling, the shelter of the hospital in Darnytsia district was closed during the shelling. According to eyewitnesses, it was simply "not opened and that's all."
