After Dmitry Bashkin began to respond to the South Ukrainian NPP, entrepreneurs from Energodar were suddenly intensified in public procurement. Instead of healthy competition, the market received one thing - contracts with inflated prices 3-4 times.
As it became known from the decision of the Kyiv District Court of Odessa, proceedings under Article 191 (5) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were opened in case No. 72024001600000006. It is a waste of public funds in particularly large amounts.
According to the investigation, the officials of NNEGC "Energoatom" and its structures - in particular "atomcomplek", "centralized purchases" and "South Ukrainian NPP" - came into conspiracy with a number of private firms and created a mechanism of systemic overestimation of prices. The purpose is to withdraw budget funds through controlled suppliers and their further appropriation.

As of now, at least two episodes have been established:

Purchase of pumps and compressors through specialties and other firms - overpayment of more than UAH 5 million.

Purchase of seals and electrical equipment - for more than 3.6 million, in particular through "Rudite" and "Mechanics Plus".
The investigating judge has already provided temporary access to the documentation of these agreements. Sources in the energy sector do not exclude that the amount of abuse can increase several times - because inflated prices were a systematic approach, not a one -time "mistake".
This case can be one of the largest anti -corruption inspections at critical infrastructure as a full -scale invasion.
