The Kharkiv Court issued a verdict in a high -profile case of a deadly accident, which occurred on February 9, 2022 with the participation of a car from the motorcade of the famous businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky. The court found two men guilty of an attempt to conceal the crime and sentenced them to three years in prison. However, they do not have to serve their sentences - the court has appointed a conditional period with a probation for one year.
As a result of the accident that occurred on the Kiev-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway, a 36-year-old resident of Kharkiv region was killed. In the scene of the tragedy, investigators found the license plate "0018", which belonged to the car from the Yaroslavsky Tupling. The businessman himself claimed that he was not present at an accident, but in his company stated that the driver of the auxiliary service was at the wheel. This driver later appeared to the police and "confessed", but later it turned out that he had nothing to do with the event - it was a falsification.
Both men - a Ukrainian native and resident of Dergach - the court found guilty of trying to conceal the crime. They will also have to compensate for over UAH 275 thousand spent on examinations. However, the accusation of leaving the victim in danger had to refuse - because of the limitation period.
The case was accompanied by loud scandals from the outset. The Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky dismissed the Chief of Kharkiv Police the day after the tragedy and declared an attempt to falsify.
