During a raid on enterprises licensed by the Ministry of Environment in the Kyiv region, journalists discovered alleged violations in the activities of Ecointel LLC from Buchansky district.
The company not only operates without updated permits, but is also involved in criminal proceedings related to corruption schemes in the field of waste disposal. At the same time, the Ministry of Environment has not revoked its license, although the company does not actually have production facilities at the specified addresses.
Ecointel LLC is registered in the village of Mykulychi, and its main activity is the collection of hazardous waste. The company received a license back in 2017, but has not undergone a re-assessment of the environmental impact, which is mandatory by law.
Journalists checked the company's registered office in Bucha and found only a trailer with the company logo and a burned-out warehouse. Toxic waste in barrels in the open air, no signs of processing facilities or an office.
There is a private house at another address listed – in Mykulychy. The owner confirmed that the warehouses did indeed burn down, but the company operates in another location, which no one could name.
