The National Cashback program continues to expand, and several large supermarket chains have already joined it. This means that Ukrainians will be able to get some of the money spent back when shopping at these stores.
In Ukraine, a national cashback program will start on September 2, which will allow you to receive 10% of the cost of purchased Ukrainian goods on a special card.
Large supermarket chains, including ATB, Silpo, Novus, Varus, and Auchan, have already joined the program. This was announced by Natalia Petrovska, executive director of the Ukrainian Food Retail Alliance (UFRA), Forbes reports.
She also noted that each supermarket chain will separately announce the full launch of cashback after completing internal technical approvals and consultations with the Ministry of Economy.
To receive cashback, buyers must register in the program, and the reward will be paid only for those goods whose manufacturers have also joined the national cashback. The list of goods covered by the program will be available on the official website of the state program “Made in Ukraine”.
Registration for manufacturers began on August 24 through the “Diya” portal, and for retail chains on August 28. Buyers will be able to register from September 2.
The cashback program provides for the payment of compensation in the amount of 10% for the purchase of domestic goods, but not more than 3,000 hryvnias per month. The funds received cannot be converted into cash, but they can be spent on certain services, such as medical services, utility bills, mobile communications, transport tickets, donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and others.
To participate in the program, you need to open a special account and get a virtual or physical card through a bank or online banking application. Next, you need to consent to the transfer of transaction data and select the “National Cashback” service in the “Diya” application. Funds will be credited to the card once a month by the 20th of the following month. Cashback for purchases in September, for example, will be available until October 20. The accrued funds can be used until January 31, 2025.
Let us recall that the Ukrainian program "National Cashback", which was introduced to support domestic manufacturers, covers all types of goods manufactured in Ukraine, except for excisable goods.
