Acting Head of the Voznesenivka District Prosecutor's Office of Zaporizhia Vladyslav Mekhalychuk, who was previously suspected of bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal liability, turned out to be the owner of a rather luxurious means of transportation — a 2021 Volkswagen Touareg. However, officially this is the car of his sister, who works as an ordinary eyebrow artist.
In the declaration for 2024, the prosecutor did not list any family members, and the only registered real estate object was an apartment in Zaporizhia with an area of 46.1 m², purchased back in 2015. Its value was not indicated either at the time of purchase or according to the latest appraisal.
Interesting fact: he acquired the right to use a Volkswagen Touareg, which costs from $52,000 on the market, on April 6, 2024. The owner of the car is listed as Viktoriya Mekhalychuk, the prosecutor's sister. However, an analysis of her social networks shows that she works as a hairdresser and has only a small room for receiving clients. No signs of a profitable business that would allow the purchase of a luxury crossover were recorded.
Despite the stated salary in the prosecutor's office at UAH 1.01 million per year (i.e. about UAH 84 thousand per month), as well as a pension of UAH 86.77 thousand, Mekhalychuk did not declare any monetary assets - neither cash nor bank deposits. At the same time, he has three accounts in PrivatBank, but the amounts in them are not disclosed.
Thus, the appearance of an expensive car in the use of a prosecutor who has no official savings raises serious questions about the origin of the funds. Especially considering that the “owner” of the car, his sister, does not demonstrate an appropriate level of income. This may indicate either a formal concealment of property, or other schemes to avoid declaring real assets.
