Martinian Kesarius lived in the IV-V centuries and was an example of self-conscripted service to God. He spent 25 years in the desert , avoiding worldly life, but the glory of his righteousness attracted people. To preserve loneliness, he moved to a deserted island , where he lived with the help of fishermen.
a girl named Fotinia (Svetlana) was escaped after a shipwreck near the island . Martinian helped her, but in order to avoid temptation, he rushed into the sea . Two dolphins helped him reach the shore. In the future, he traveled a lot and went into eternity peacefully in the temple.
Prince Konstantin Ostrozky: Orthodoxy defender and philanthropist
Prince Konstantin Ostrozky is a prominent figure of the 16th century , who left a huge mark in the history of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and culture. He founded the Ostroh Academy , which became an important center of education and funded the publication of the Ostroh Bible .
