A telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which lasted for more than two hours, has shown the lack of progress towards the end of the war in Ukraine. This is stated in CNN analytical material.
Journalists of the American TV channel emphasize that despite the duration of negotiations, the result was disappointing. Trump did not propose any specific initiatives, but instead made it clear that he was transferring responsibility for the negotiations of Ukraine and Russia itself. This position, as CNN points out, only playes the Kremlin.
“This is a classic gambite of the agreement. But against the background of weakening Washington's determination to support Ukraine, it may not be a bluff , ”the analysis said.
After the conversation, Trump stated that he "did not see the need to change something" and suggested that in the case of the failure of peace talks "simply retreat".
