According to forecasters' preliminary forecasts, the weather in Ukraine in December 2024 will generally be within normal limits, and no serious frosts are expected in the middle of the month. The weather will be dynamic, with periodic changes in temperature, but severe cold that could seriously affect life everywhere is unlikely.
This was reported by the spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Nataliya Ptuha during the briefing.
Experts indicate that the first decade of December will pass with fairly stable weather. However, changes are possible in the second decade. In particular, forecasters note that the passage of cyclones from the southwest may lead to an increase in temperature, especially in the southern regions of Ukraine.
"However, since Ukraine is a seasonal country, we do not rule out the possibility of sharp cold snaps. This is winter, and we should be ready for it," the forecaster emphasizes.
At the same time, representatives of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center are monitoring the so-called polar vortex - stratospheric currents that can lead to cold depressions on the territory of Europe. However, forecasters do not predict significant frosts at this time, and such cold waves should not be expected in Ukraine.
The forecast for the second decade of December predicts more active atmospheric fronts, which will bring not only windier weather, but also precipitation. Alternating periods of calm weather and more intense winter manifestations are expected, in particular icicles, which may occur depending on the air temperature and the region.
"If the temperature is positive, then wait for rain, if negative - snow," the forecaster notes. With this in mind, citizens are advised to follow current warnings from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
