A new wave of cold snap is expected in Ukraine in early May. Forecasters predict that from May 2 to 4 at night the temperature in many regions will drop below zero. In particular, frosts to -1…-3°C are possible.
According to forecasts, the northern, central and some western regions are most at risk of being affected. During the day, the temperature will reach a maximum of +8…+12°C - the weather will remain cool and unstable.
Such a temperature “rollback” is typical for the Ukrainian spring. Meteorologists remind that even after a long warming, short-term frosts are possible. This year, the April weather swings will continue into May.
Farmers and summer residents are urged to be especially careful. In the event of nighttime temperatures dropping, farmers are asked to protect plants with film, agrofibre, or other shelter to protect them from freezing.
Experts advise not to rely only on long-term forecasts and to monitor operational information: the weather situation can change quickly.
