Significant changes in weather conditions are expected on the territory of Ukraine from January 11. In the coming days, frost, snowfall, heavy blizzards and ice on the roads are forecast. This was reported by forecaster Natalka Didenko on her Facebook page.
From January 11, a significant cooling will come in Ukraine, which will bring with it wet snow, blizzards and ice, which can make it difficult to drive on the roads. The air temperature during the day will vary from -2 to +3 degrees, and at night it is expected to cool down slightly to sub-zero temperatures.
On average, the temperature in Ukraine in January will be at the level of 0-3 degrees of frost, but in the south and in the Carpathians it may fluctuate within +2 degrees of heat. In Transcarpathia, Crimea, Odesa and Kherson regions, the temperature will approach zero or slightly exceed it, while in the Carpathians it is forecast to be as cold as -6 degrees.
Also, meteorologist Ihor Kibalchich notes that wet snow may accumulate at night, which will lead to the formation of ice, especially on the roads of the central, southern and northern regions. At the same time, no precipitation is expected on the Left Bank.
The wind in the coming days will be southerly or southeasterly at a speed of 5-10 m/s, and in the western regions of Ukraine - westerly at 9-14 m/s. During the day in the west of the country, the temperature will vary from -1 to +4°C, in other regions at night - from +2 to +7°C, during the day - from +6 to +11°C, and in Crimea the temperature will reach +12 to + 17°C. In the Carpathians, the temperature will range from -1 to -6°C.
According to the forecasts of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, the average temperature in January 2025 will be 1.5-2 degrees higher than normal. At the same time, in the second half of the month, severe frosts down to -20°C may cover Ukraine, which will be a sharp contrast to the milder first half of January.
As for February, forecasters expect the month to be relatively cool, with average temperatures around 0°C. February 2025 will be 4°C colder than February 2024, with precipitation remaining stable. Up to three "wet" days are forecast for the period from February 21.
