Within the framework of the Ground Forces, subordinate to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCK), an investigation into the circumstances of the incident involving journalist Yevgeny Shulgata from the publication "Slidstvo.Info" has begun. The Colonel-General, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, instructed to conduct an official investigation into employees of the TCK and social support of the Solomiansky district of Kyiv in connection with allegations of abuse of office. It is noted that employees of the TCK illegally interfered in the activities of the journalist, trying to restore material about the head of the cybersecurity department of the SBU, Ilya Vityuk.
The Colonel-General stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine condemn any violations by servicemen and promise to take appropriate measures after the completion of the inspection. He also expressed gratitude to journalists for their contribution to protecting the information space of Ukraine from Russian propaganda.
The press service of the Ground Forces confirmed that an official check was being conducted, and the editorial office of "Slidstvo.Info" received a request, which they promised to respond to in accordance with the requirements of the law.
Against this background, the public organization “Mediarukh” calls on the country’s military-political leadership to investigate this incident in detail and consider the possibility of initiating criminal cases against employees of the SBU and the CCC. The authors of the article “Home Front. Who and why is pressuring anti-corruption journalists and activists”, Inna Vedernikova and Tetyana Bezruk, emphasize the importance of the fight against corruption and emphasize the role of journalism in this process.
