Speaking about the units and units that were on the front lines for a long period of time, the analysts of the Institute for the Study of War commented on the statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky about the start of rotation in the Ukrainian army.
Syrsky emphasized that the deployed units will be replaced at the front by fresher ones, which, in his opinion, will help stabilize the operational situation. However, he did not specify specifically where on the front line these rotations will take place for reasons of operational security.
American experts believe that the Armed Forces will not be able to carry out significant rotations in areas where the Ukrainian command considers the situation difficult or under threat of a Russian breakthrough.
"The announcement of the start of the rotations reflects the fact that the Ukrainian command believes that the situation in those areas of the front line, where the rotation will take place, has stabilized enough to carry out such a procedure," the ISW emphasized.
It will be recalled that American experts reported that the Russian Federation is mobilizing reserves for an offensive in the east of Ukraine, in particular, in the directions of Lyman, Bakhmut, and the west and southwest of the Donetsk region.
