Taisiya Povaliy was informed about suspicion in absentia in connection with calls for the seizure of Ukraine

Taisia Povaliy, a singer and former member of parliament, was informed of the suspicion of calling for the takeover of Ukraine and justifying Russia's armed aggression against the country, although she is currently outside Ukraine.

Law enforcement agencies reported suspicion of Povaliy in collaborative activities, calls for aggressive war and justification of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine has gathered evidence against the singer and ex-people's deputy Taisia Povaliy, who, according to them, justifies Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. "This is stated in the message of the Security Service," the message added.

Before the full Russian invasion, Povaliy left for Russia, where she received Russian citizenship and expressed public support for the Kremlin.

During an interview with a Moscow online publication, the collaborator praised Putin and called for the capture of the entire territory of Ukraine. In addition, she tried to discredit the Ukrainian defenders who participated in the battles for Kyiv.

In September 2023, Povaliy, at the invitation of terrorist Pasichnyk, performed at a concert in temporarily occupied Luhansk. During the speech, she expressed support for the Russian invaders and glorified their participation in the war against Ukraine, the SBU said.

The examination confirmed the facts of Povaliy's subversive activities in favor of Russia.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed Taisia Povaliy in absentia of the suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 6 of Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity), Art. 436 (public calls for aggressive war) and Part 1 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine as legitimate).

Since the accused is on the territory of Russia, comprehensive measures are underway to bring her to justice for the crimes committed, the SBU reported.
