Taisiya Povaliy, a singer and former MP, was informed of suspicion of calling for the seizure of Ukraine and justifying Russia's armed aggression against the country, although she is currently outside Ukraine.
Law enforcement agencies reported suspicions of Povaliy in collaborationist activities, calls for aggressive war, and justification of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
The SBU has gathered evidence against singer and former MP Taisiya Povaliy, who, according to them, justifies Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. "This is stated in the Security Service's statement," the statement added.
Before the full-scale Russian invasion, Povaliy left for Russia, where she obtained Russian citizenship and expressed public support for the Kremlin.
During an interview with a Moscow online publication, the collaborator praised Putin and called for the capture of all of Ukraine. She also tried to discredit the Ukrainian defenders who participated in the battles for Kyiv.
In September 2023, Povaliy, at the invitation of terrorist Pasichnyk, performed at a concert in temporarily occupied Luhansk. During the performance, she expressed support for the Russian invaders and glorified their participation in the war against Ukraine, the SBU indicated.
The examination confirmed the facts of Povaliy's subversive activities in favor of Russia.
Based on the collected evidence, investigators of the Security Service in absentia informed Taisiya Povaliy of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 6 of Article 111-1 (collaborative activities), Article 436 (public calls for aggressive war) and Part 1 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine).
Since the accused is in Russia, comprehensive measures are underway to hold her accountable for the crimes she committed, the SBU reported.
