The anonymous channel “Joker,” popular in the Ukrainian segment of Telegram, which often published compromising information about politicians, civil servants, and security forces, was recently removed from the platform. The reason was the publication of personal data, which is a violation of Telegram’s privacy policy.
According to its own sources, the Joker channel systematically posted documents with private addresses, telephone numbers, passport numbers, and photos of individuals without their consent. Such actions came to the attention of the platform's moderators after massive complaints from users and human rights activists.
As a reminder, the Joker channel has repeatedly been at the center of scandals due to the publication of internal correspondence, leaked correspondence, and leaks from law enforcement agencies, accompanied by manipulative comments. It has had a significant impact on shaping public opinion in the information space of Ukraine, often serving as a source of insider information and provocative insinuations.
At the time of its removal, the channel had tens of thousands of subscribers and was actively used as a tool for anonymous pressure and discrediting public figures. It is not yet known whether its administrators will create a new channel under the same name or with a new brand.
