The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine announced that the TV channels participating in the “United News” telethon have been provided with a reservation from mobilization. Among them are “My-Ukraine”, “1+1”, ICTV, “Inter”, “Rada” and “Public News”, which have the appropriate status according to the orders of the Ministry of Culture.
Other media organizations, such as the BBC, Ukrinform, Novy Kanal, Starline Media, STB, Khmarochos Media, UNIAN TV, Deutsche Welle, TET, NBM, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, and others, also received this status.
It was previously reported that reservations were not available for cultural figures who are not employees of strategic enterprises. However, reservations for 50% of military personnel have been secured for each such institution.
In addition, Ukrainian TV channels received financial support for the telethon. The total cost of the contract with Kinokit amounted to 104.9 million hryvnias, and the state enterprise Multimedia Platform for Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine allocated 146.72 million hryvnias for the creation of information programs and materials.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn expressed the opinion that if the telethon does not restore the trust of viewers and does not receive financial support, it should be considered to end it. This also applies to the issues of international financial assistance and its reduction.
