In March 2025, Ukrainians registered 4680 new electric vehicles, continuing the tendency to increase demand for transport with zero emissions. According to the Ukravtoprom Association, it is 4% more than in February, and 6% more than in the same period last year.
Most of these cars are cars, they were registered with 4532 units. At the same time, only 647 cars were new, and the rest - 3885 - already had mileage. Commercial electric vehicles were registered 148, of which only 7 are new.
The leader among the new models was BYD Song Plus with 100 registrations. In the second place Volkswagen ID.unyx (96 cars), followed by ZEEKR 001 (69 units), ZEEKR 7X (59 cars) and Audi Q4 E-Tron (45 cars). Chinese brands continue to strengthen the position in the Ukrainian market.
Tesla Model Y (448 cars), Nissan Leaf (445 units) and Tesla Model 3 (410 Registration) were among the used cars in March The five also Hyundai Kona (273 cars) and Kia niro (270 cars).
In total, 12,805 electric vehicles were registered in the first quarter of 2025, which is 8% more than in the same 2024 period. Interestingly, the registration of new electric vehicles decreased by 26% (1978 cars), while demand for used increased by 18% - they were registered 10 827.
These data confirm the stable interest of Ukrainians in green transport, despite the difficult economic situation. The secondary market activity also indicates an increase in citizens' awareness of electric vehicles, their economy and environmental friendliness.
We will remind, in 2024 Ukrainians purchased almost 14.4 thousand cars from China, of which 82% made electric vehicles - an indicator that indicates the dominance of Chinese brands in this category.
