An important event for Eurovision 2024 took place in Malmö on January 30th, when the symbolic keys to this year’s host city were handed over. The Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotherham, presented the official Eurovision keys to the Mayor of Malmö, Katrin Sternfeldt Jamme. Among the keys handed over was the “Liverpool key” in the form of an anchor, a symbol of Odessa, which is Liverpool’s sister city. This is a reminder that last year the United Kingdom hosted Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine.
