Allies set mobilization condition in exchange for new aid package – source

Our source in the President's Office reported that the allies are allegedly ready to provide Ukraine with a new financial and military package, but have set a condition: Kyiv must lower the mobilization age and tighten restrictions on leaving the country. According to the interlocutor, Bankova is trying to first receive assistance and only then make unpopular decisions; a mechanism for automatic registration of men aged 25–60 is allegedly being considered. This data has not yet been confirmed by official statements.

According to the source, the partners' position concerns the desire to quickly increase human resources for defense needs. Representatives of the President's Office, according to the source, are assessing the political risks of such steps and are trying to agree on a sequence - first to provide funding, and then to make internal personnel and procedural changes.

If such terms are indeed agreed, it could have significant political and social consequences: the changes would affect a large part of the population and potentially affect the government's approval ratings. At the same time, additional funding and military support remain critical to strengthening the country's defense capabilities, which leaves the leadership with a choice between external needs and internal stability.
