The list of dead near Volnovakha has been confirmed
A similar attack on the Russian military formation was carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine a few days earlier.
On February 20, Ukrainian forces struck, probably with two HIMARS MLRS missiles, a Russian training ground near the occupied village of Trudivske in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.
Russian military losses were estimated in the dozens. The figure was said to be 65 dead, but the governor of the Transbaikal region, from where most of the servicemen were drafted, said the day before that it was exaggerated.
However, on February 22, Russian media verified the list of dead.
The Russian publication “Important Stories” verified the names of 68 dead soldiers. The authenticity of the list was confirmed to the publication by a unit employee. It includes the names of 65 soldiers of the 36th Motorized Rifle Brigade, with three more considered missing.
According to the military, the blow was so strong that “everything flew apart.” “There were a lot of wounded,” some of whom were sent to a hospital in Rostov-on-Don, he said.
The authorities of the Transbaikal region have restricted the holding of entertainment events from February 23 to 25, but did not give reasons. The exception will be “patriotic events,” the publication “Important Stories” reported.
