Units of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, located in Avdiivka, have been replaced by other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the public relations service of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Lieutenant General Mark Bezruchko, Ivan Sekach, on Radio Liberty. He stated that currently their unit does not have sufficient resources to maintain the city.

“We don’t have enough capabilities to hold the city, but reinforcements are coming , and we are counting on friendly units… For the first time in almost two years of the 110th separate mechanized brigade’s operation, some of our units were fully withdrawn from combat for rest and rotation. Indeed, reinforcements arrived. I won’t say what kind of unit it was. But this is powerful support, we felt a little calmer when it arrived,” Sekach noted.

He also indicated that in Avdiivka for the city and its surroundings. Russian forces, according to Sekach, are trying to cut the supply line, using their numerical superiority.

“Our opponents have a complete advantage in aviation, that is, we cannot influence air raids, bombing of the city and our positions in any way. They have a huge number of personnel, which they do not take into account, and they are constantly experimenting in different groups, using armored vehicles. They have a task, and they are trying to fulfill it in any way they can,” he added.

The incident was the first serious clash between the sides since Russia stepped up military activity near Avdiivka more than four months ago. Ukrainian forces remain in position, defending the city from attacks by Russian forces using tanks, armored vehicles, aircraft and artillery. The Russian military continues to attempt to capture the city, using a variety of military tactics.

According to Dmytro Lykhoviy, more than 900 civilians remain in the city of Avdiivka, which was wounded by Russian shelling, and their evacuation is currently impossible.
