The average salary in Ukraine is growing in 2025, but the gap between regions remains significant. The highest incomes are traditionally recorded in the capital, while residents of a number of regional centers still earn less than the national average.
In Kyiv, the average salary reached 30,000 hryvnias, the highest result in the country. Over the past 12 months, the indicator has grown by 23%, which is one of the most dynamic increases.
Uzhhorod unexpectedly took the position of Kyiv's closest competitor. The average salary here reached 25,000 hryvnias, which is 25% more than last year. It seems that the border location and the activity of small businesses have had a positive impact on the income of the local population.
Lviv and Odesa are also included in the group of cities with relatively high wages. The average salary here is 24 thousand hryvnias. Annual growth is 19% in Lviv and 20% in Odessa.
Slightly lower indicators are demonstrated by large industrial and administrative centers:
-
In Dnipro, the average income is 24 thousand hryvnias.
-
In Kharkiv — 22,300 UAH.
-
In Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Rivne - from 22 to 22.5 thousand UAH.
-
Zaporizhia is slightly behind with 20 thousand hryvnias.
The least attractive in terms of income was the situation in Sumy, where the average salary does not exceed UAH 18,500.
Overall, the average salary in the country reached 25 thousand hryvnias. Despite the positive dynamics, the difference between regions indicates an uneven economic recovery and different levels of business activity after the war recession.
