The Government of Ukraine has adopted important changes in the healthcare sector that improve citizens' access to modern medical technologies and treatment. The Cabinet of Ministers has included magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners in the list of medical devices that are purchased at state expense. This news was announced by the Permanent Representative of the Government to the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, UNN reports.
The changes affected the list of medicines and medical devices that are purchased with budget funds for the implementation of state programs and centralized healthcare measures. An important item was added to this list - magnetic resonance imaging systems, which will now be available for purchase by healthcare institutions.
Melnychuk noted that these changes concern not only the purchase of equipment for clinics, but also the expansion of the provision of medical institutions, in particular for cluster and supracluster institutions, as well as for laboratories working in the field of radiopharmaceuticals.
In addition, the government has updated the list of medications for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, supplementing it with new items, which will significantly improve the availability of medicines for patients who need this important treatment.
These initiatives are important steps towards improving medical services in Ukraine and providing hospitals with the necessary modern equipment for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
