Serhiy Sezonenko, who is applying for the position of forester of the Dychansky forestry of the Eastern Forest Office branch, submitted a declaration that is frankly impressive in its scale. The document lists cash savings in dollars, assets worth millions of hryvnias, and real estate in several regions of the country.
His family owns land plots, residential real estate and commercial properties in Chernihiv and Donetsk regions. Some of the properties are registered in the name of Sezonenko himself, some in the name of his wife. According to the declaration, the couple's monetary assets amount to eight million hryvnias, most of which are kept in cash. At the same time, the candidate's official income for the past year amounted to a little more than 170 thousand hryvnias.
Sezonenko also declared unfinished construction of a residential building. His wife owns a car purchased last year and also engages in entrepreneurial activity, but the exact amount of her income has not been disclosed.
In the past, Sezonenko held positions as head of forestry enterprises in Sumy and Luhansk regions. His career is connected with state and municipal forestry.
The details of the declaration are of interest not only in view of the amount of property and cash, but also in the context of his ambitions to return to the system of "Forests of Ukraine". In the branch to which he aspires, questions about the transparency of appointments and reporting have long been brewing. The situation with the candidacy of Sezonenko is another reminder of why the declaration system remains an important part of public control over civil servants.
