Pavlo Sych, the first deputy head of Kyiv Customs and a candidate for the position of head of the State Customs Service, owns luxury housing and cars through relatives, which draws attention to his financial connections and the origin of his property.
The actual place of residence of the Sych family is a house in Vyshgorod with an area of 323.7 sq. m, registered for the mother-in-law. Its market value is 8.1 million UAH. The mother-in-law did not have any official income for the purchase of this house. In 2022, the house was registered for Sych's wife under a gift agreement.
Another house, with an area of 108.6 sq. m. in Novy Petrivtsy, belongs to the official's father-in-law. Its cost is UAH 2.3 million. According to sources, the father-in-law also did not have enough income for such a purchase.
The candidate's fleet of cars for customs is registered to relatives. Sych's mother purchased a 2023 Suzuki Vitara in 2023, and a 2020 Toyota RAV-4 Hybrid belongs to the official's sister, which Sych's wife uses free of charge. Another 2022 Toyota Hybrid is registered to his wife's father.
Sych's actual use of this property raises questions about the transparency of the origin of the assets of a candidate for a key public position, as well as a potential conflict of interest if he is appointed.
