Car mobilization is turning into a new corruption scheme

A new scheme has appeared in Ukraine to “help” legal entities in re-registering their cars. Due to the adoption of a new draft law on mobilization, legal entities must now have a certificate of the vehicles being registered in the military.

Ingenious “businessmen” have already managed to profit from this, having developed a way to bypass obtaining this document. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors reported suspicion to a 65-year-old man who helped re-register cars for money by providing false certificates of military registration. He collaborated with the administrator of the MIA service center, who illegally transferred to him information from the National Police portal, which had limited access. The MIA employee also transferred information about bringing individuals to administrative responsibility, which indicates a leak of official information.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and the suspects are being given preventive measures.
