A car wanted by Interpol was found by border guards in Transcarpathia

Border guards at the Luzhanka checkpoint in Transcarpathia discovered a 2005 Volkswagen car that is on the international wanted list. The vehicle was stolen in the Czech Republic and was being driven by a Ukrainian citizen at the time of the arrest.

It is noted that during the inspection of a vehicle driven by a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen, the Interpol database was activated, the press service of the Mukachevo Border Guard Unit writes.

As it turned out, the car was stolen in September 2024 in the Czech Republic, and it was listed in the register of stolen vehicles of the Interpol General Secretariat.

The border guards promptly notified the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol in Kyiv and handed over the car to the National Police.
