On January 4, a terrible incident occurred in the Avangardivska community of Odessa region involving two teenagers, ages 14 and 16. The younger boy, left at home without adult supervision, decided to show his friend a carbine that belonged to his father.
According to preliminary information, during a weapons demonstration, a 14-year-old boy accidentally shot his 16-year-old friend in the head. The victim was rushed to the Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital with a serious gunshot wound. His condition is currently unknown.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The issue of the legal qualification of this event and its inclusion in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations is currently being resolved.
