The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has terminated the criminal proceedings against former Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarsky. The court's decision, as Pyvovarsky himself reported on Facebook, was made due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing him to criminal responsibility; at the same time, all arrests on his property were lifted.
We remind you: The National Anti-Corruption Bureau reported Pyvovarskyi on suspicion on February 22, 2023 in a case of abuse of power, due to which, according to the investigation, the state allegedly suffered losses of over $30 million. According to the detectives, in July 2015, Pyvovarskyi, together with his deputy, signed an order that allowed private companies to collect ship dues at the port of Pivdennyi - fees that, according to the law, should have been collected by the Seaports Administration of Ukraine.
Andriy Pyvovarsky himself initially denied any illegal actions and claimed that he acted within the framework of the current legislation and government decisions of the time. Earlier, on March 16, 2023, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals chose a preventive measure for him in the form of a bail of almost UAH 10 million, which the former official paid in full on the same day.
After a lengthy trial, the court ruled to close the case due to the statute of limitations. Pyvovarsky thanked everyone who supported him and his family during the trial.
