The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court canceled the notice of suspicion served on Yuriy Bolokhovets, the general director of the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" within the framework of the case of illicit enrichment.
The Administrative Court of the Supreme Court of Justice made this decision on March 10. Before that, on February 17, the investigating judge of the Supreme Court of Justice saw no grounds for quashing the suspicion, after which Bolokhovets' defense filed an appeal.
The court decision states that the appeal of the suspect's defense lawyer was granted, the previous decision of the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals was canceled, and the complaint against the report of suspicion was partially granted. As a result, the report of suspicion dated July 21, 2025 was canceled under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In addition, on March 11, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals also canceled the preventive measure applied to Bolokhovets. This is a bail of UAH 9.08 million.
This is not the first time this case has been in the spotlight. Our publication previously wrote that after posting bail, Bolokhovets could return to duty despite the criminal proceedings.
Also, against the backdrop of the scandal surrounding Yuriy Bolokhovets, a management crisis within the state-owned enterprise itself escalated in early March. In particular, it became known about Oleksiy Kucher's departure from the supervisory board of "Lisiv Ukrainy".
Separately, we would like to remind you that Bolokhovets has previously appeared in publications about property and land scandals related to the forestry industry.
Currently, the cancellation of suspicion and bail does not mean the automatic disappearance of all political and reputational issues surrounding the head of "Forests of Ukraine", but it significantly changes Bolokhovets' position in this case.
