The transit of Ukrainian agricultural products is critically important for Polish ports and terminals, and its restriction is already causing serious damage to the country's logistics sector. This was stated by Laura Cholowac, president of the CSL logistics group, reports Rynek Infrastruktury.
" We understand that the import of Ukrainian raw materials has negative consequences for the Polish domestic market. But transit is a completely different issue, and it should be preserved. Closing this route harms our economy ," she emphasized.
According to her, transit problems have been going on for months: due to queues at the borders, slow customs procedures, and short opening hours of checkpoints, Polish transshipment capacities are idle, and companies are suffering losses.
" The ports are empty. This leads to huge costs and threatens the existence of many logistics companies ," said Kholovach.
She also recalled that other countries — in particular, Germany, Turkey, and Romania — actively use the transit of Ukrainian grain, earning money on logistics services but not allowing the goods to enter the domestic market. Poland, in her opinion, is losing its advantageous position in the supply chain.
" If the situation does not change, we risk seeing mass bankruptcies of transport companies. This will also affect our GDP ," warns the president of CSL.
The issue is planned to be discussed on September 11, 2025 in Warsaw at the Aviation Market Congress, dedicated to infrastructure development strategies, supply security, and challenges for the logistics industry.
