The National Police of Ukraine has announced suspicion of an official of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) for official negligence, which led to significant losses for the Kyiv community. The head of one of the KCSA departments signed an agreement with a private company for the purchase and sale of real estate, which, according to law enforcement officers, led to an artificial underestimation of the value of the object and the illegal alienation of municipal property.
This is a covered pedestrian gallery - an elevated passage from the Central Railway Station of Kyiv to the high-speed tram tracks. The cost of this object was significantly reduced compared to the real one, which allowed a private structure to illegally purchase it. According to the National Police, the actions of the official led to losses of particularly large amounts - 63 million UAH , which is a serious financial loss for the budget of the city of Kyiv.
The official's negligence, in particular the lack of control over the proper conduct of inspections and the filing of an appeal against the court decision, caused a resonance among the public and executive bodies. The suspect faces a sentence of imprisonment of up to five years if proven guilty in court.
This case is another example of the importance of controlling the spending of budget funds and municipal property. At the same time, the situation raises questions about the effectiveness of control mechanisms in the Kyiv City State Administration.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials promise to provide additional details regarding further steps in this case.
