The High Anti-Corruption Court has partially satisfied the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office regarding the confiscation of assets of the family of a police officer from Kharkiv. This concerns the seizure of over 4 million hryvnias and an elite Lexus LX 450D SUV. The total amount of unfounded assets, according to the investigation, is about 7.8 million hryvnias.
Investigators established that the property was registered to the wife of a law enforcement officer. At the same time, a financial analysis of the couple's income indicates the absence of legal sources that could explain the origin of such funds. In particular, no income was declared that would allow them to purchase a luxury car or accumulate millions of dollars.
According to media sources, the case concerns Igor Zabroda, an employee of the Kharkiv District Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region. The official name of the person involved in the case is not specified in the decision, but according to available information, he is the one who appears in the proceedings.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office notes that the case is another example of unfounded assets being registered in the names of relatives of officials. According to the law, such property is subject to confiscation if a gap is established between the declared income and the value of the acquired objects.
The decision of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Russian Federation can currently be appealed. The issue of filing an appeal will be considered after the official publication of the full text of the decision.
