Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, have achieved in court the recognition of assets that actually belonged to the family of the former head of the district CCC and the joint venture of the city of Kharkiv as unfounded. These are luxury cars, formally registered to relatives, but which the official himself used.
The investigation established that during 2022–2023, the mother-in-law of a military official purchased two premium cars with a total value of over 3.4 million UAH. Despite the official registration of the transport as a relative, all the cars were used by the official himself and his relatives. An analysis of the family's financial situation showed that such purchases could not have been made at the expense of legal income.
On October 3, 2025, the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the SAPO's claim for civil confiscation of assets. The court found the possession of a 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid unfounded and ruled to recover its value to the state revenue - UAH 1.598 million. In addition, it was decided to confiscate a Lexus NX200 registered to the official's mother-in-law.
This decision has become another signal for officials who try to hide illegal assets behind relatives. The decision can be appealed within 30 days, but the case already sets a precedent in the practice of civil confiscation on suspicion of illicit enrichment.
