The Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv has chosen a preventive measure for Volodymyr Prokopiv, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv City Council Member from the European Solidarity party. He will be under 24-hour house arrest until June 20.
According to the investigation, in the spring of 2022, Prokopiv organized a scheme to smuggle conscripted men abroad, disguising their departure as drivers of "humanitarian cargo." This involved entering fictitious data into the state system "Shlyakh".
The suspicion of Prokopiv was announced by the SBU and the National Police. Sources of RBC-Ukraine and Kashtan NEWS confirm that the deputy appears in the case of organizing an illegal border crossing.
Back in October 2024, Bihus.info journalists published an investigation into the significant amount of real estate owned by Volodymyr Prokopiv's family. Over 10 years in leadership positions in Kyiv, the family has acquired property that raises questions about the sources of income. After the investigation was published, the official announced his intention to resign from the post of deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
Now the situation has been further complicated by criminal proceedings. If Prokopiv is proven guilty, he faces serious punishment for illegally facilitating mobilization evasion.
