A court in Sumy sentenced a traitor who betrayed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 15 years in prison

The Zarechy District Court of Sumy found a local resident guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property, the court's press service reported.

The investigation established that the accused purposefully cooperated with representatives of the Russian Federation and transferred to them military data that could cause significant harm to the security of Ukraine.

In particular, he informed the enemy about:

  • the number of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the availability of armored vehicles;

  • the number of checkpoints and the location of equipment dummies;

  • coordinates for adjusting fire, which allowed for more accurate hits on Ukrainian positions;

  • photographic materials of the consequences of shelling with their own explanations regarding the date, time and place;

  • locations of military personnel and equipment.

For these actions, the man was found guilty of high treason. The verdict in case No. 592/5412/22 has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed.
