A court in Kyiv has sentenced a 33-year-old repeat offender who committed a series of crimes during martial law. The man robbed a hotel in the center of the capital during a blackout and stole a bicycle from the territory of a church.
As reported by the press service of the Kyiv police, during patrol in the Shevchenkivskyi district, law enforcement officers noticed a suspicious man who tried to escape when the police appeared. After the detention, it turned out that he was involved in the theft of money from the cash register of a hotel on Sofiivska Street.
According to the investigation, the criminal, taking advantage of the lack of light in the hotel, approached the bar and stole 1,400 hryvnias. His actions were noticed by a security guard, but the escape did not help the attacker - he was soon detained.
In addition, the police proved his involvement in another theft - he stole a bicycle worth 14 thousand hryvnias from the temple grounds.
The detained man was a 33-year-old resident of the capital, who had already served multiple sentences for robbery, burglary, and theft. He was suspected of committing robbery and theft under martial law.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced the recidivist to 7 years in prison.
