The State Bureau of Investigation has detained a serviceman who tried to leave a training center in the Kirovohrad region for a bribe. The SBI press service reported this on Monday, November 3.
According to the investigation, the soldier was undergoing training in a training platoon and attempted to leave the unit on his own. After an unsuccessful escape past the guards, he offered the battalion commander $4,000, hoping that he would help him leave the unit.
The battalion commander immediately notified law enforcement. The State Bureau of Investigation detained the soldier after he handed over some of the money. He was charged with offering and providing an illegal benefit, as well as with a completed attempt to evade military service under martial law (Part 3 of Article 369, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
This case is reminiscent of a similar situation that occurred in September 2025 in the Lviv region, where a cadet offered $3,000 to a sergeant to help him avoid service.
