The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure for Ministry of Defense official Vitaliy Haiduk, suspected of a corruption scheme involving the construction of housing for the military in Kyiv.
According to the NABU and SAPO, Haiduk is accused of receiving illegal benefits from a capital city developer. The official allegedly promised to ensure victory in a competition for the construction of residential buildings for military personnel in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.
The official estimated the cost of the "services" at 1.3 million US dollars, which were to be transferred in three tranches:
-
$100,000 — after the start of the competition;
-
400 thousand - after signing the contract;
-
800 thousand - after the completion of the first stage of construction.
Later, the developer insisted on reducing the amount to $1 million and transferred the first tranche. In June 2025, law enforcement officers exposed the accomplices immediately after receiving part of the funds. Based on the evidence collected, suspicion was also raised against Haiduk himself.
On September 4, the investigating judge of the Supreme Administrative Court granted the request of the NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, and applied a preventive measure to the suspect in the form of a bail of UAH 2,725,200. It must be paid within five days. The official was also assigned a number of procedural duties.
If the official is proven guilty, he faces several years in prison and loss of the right to hold public office.
