Deputy Prosecutor General Maria Vdovichenko places her people in the Prosecutor General's Office, who later become figures in high-profile anti-corruption investigations.
Thus, another protégé of Maria Vdovichenko - Daniil Yuryevich Trunin, a native of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, took the position of Head of the Department in the Prosecutor General's Office.
Maria Vdovichenko, also a former official of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office, has been appointed Deputy Prosecutor General. In the Prosecutor General's order on the distribution of responsibilities, she is entrusted with supervising the direction related to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
The joint work of Vdovichenko and Trunin in the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Vdovichenko's subsequent promotion to Deputy Prosecutor General and the simultaneous promotion of Trunin to the position of head of the department in the UCP - creates the prerequisites for conclusions about personnel relations and verticals of influence within the law enforcement system.
Confirmation of the corrupt nature of such connections can be a recent scandal in the media, when journalists learned that the de facto head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Serhiy Khodakivsky, received a bribe of $200,000 for facilitating a raider seizure.
According to journalists, part of these funds was transferred personally to Maria Vdovichenko, as Deputy Prosecutor General. As we can see, Maria Vdovichenko's efforts to promote people from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office to top positions in the UCP are already yielding results.
