According to information on the Verkhovna Rada website, the draft law on mobilization has been signed by the speaker of the parliament and is awaiting final approval from the president. After that, the law will come into force in a month.

The Law on Mobilization, which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on April 11 in the second reading, provides for a number of important provisions:

  • The process of updating military registration data is becoming more accessible, allowing citizens to do it online or through local administrative service centers. Military personnel and reservists can also create a personal electronic account.
  • The provision on the right to demobilization for people with disabilities and those who have returned from captivity who wish to terminate military service remains.
  • Those who have been found to be limitedly fit are entitled to a re-medical examination.
  • Servicemen who have signed their first contract can receive compensation of 50% of the first installment on a loan secured by a mortgage.
  • Regarding consular services abroad, citizens have 60 days to update their personal military registration data, which can be done remotely.
  • The law imposes restrictions on the right to drive for those who evade military service, with exceptions.
  • During the verification of documents by representatives of military commissariats or police, photo and video recording will be carried out to ensure the correctness of the procedure.
  • Citizens aged 18 to 60 who are on military registration or have been discharged from it must carry their military registration document with them during the mobilization period. The draft law on mobilization has been sent to Zelensky for signature 1
