Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) together with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former inspector of the "Daryivska Colony" who, during the occupation of the Kherson region, worked for the invaders. The SBI press service reports this.
During the occupation of part of the Kherson region, the man took a similar position in a colony that was under the control of the occupying authorities. He continued to work in the occupied institution until the liberation of the region. After the de-occupation, the inspector decided to remain in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
After the liberation of the Kherson region, the man was mobilized, and he began serving in one of the district territorial recruiting centers (TCK) of the Odessa region, where he handed out summonses to those liable for military service. At the same time, he denied his cooperation with the occupiers, declaring to his colleagues his patriotic position.
The SBI's operational and investigative actions led to the discovery of documentation confirming the functioning of the colony during the occupation. During the interrogations of witnesses, it was possible to expose a defector who was reported on suspicion of collaboration activities in accordance with Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.
The detainee is in custody, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.
