The eighth Russian general has become a victim of the war in Ukraine. Russian media outlets report this, emphasizing that the highly professional military officer died during hostilities at the front. Information about the general's death was confirmed by some sources in the Russian military circles.
Major General Pavlo Klymenko was attacked by a drone near a checkpoint near Krasnohorivka (i.e., not far from the front line), while traveling in a group on motorcycles. He was taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with head injuries and a fractured hip. He died 2.5 hours after being wounded.
Klymenko commanded the 5th Donetsk Motorized Rifle Brigade, which was created on the basis of the Oplot battalion in 2014 by the “DPR authorities.”.
