Amid fierce fighting, Russian forces have occupied the village of Yasna Polyana in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region and advanced into several settlements in Donbas, including Novodmytrivka, Druzhba, Maksymivka, and near Novoukrainka and Terni, according to monitoring project DeepState, which has published an updated map of hostilities showing ongoing territorial changes.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 126 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours, accompanied by three missile strikes, 52 air strikes, and almost three thousand shelling of Ukrainian military positions. Particularly active actions took place in the Kupyansk direction, where Russian troops launched five attacks on the fortifications of Ukrainian defenders, but all assaults were successfully repelled.
Areas of active combat operations
- Kupyansk direction : four clashes took place in the areas of Petropavlivka, Lozova, Kruglyakivka and Zagryzove. All enemy attacks were successfully repelled, which indicates the strength of the defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Lyman direction : during the day, the invaders tried to break through 14 times in the areas of Druzhelyubivka, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terni, and Serebryansky Forest, but all attempts were stopped by the Ukrainian military.
- Kramatorsk direction : three attempts by Russian invaders to advance near Stupochky also ended in failure.
- Toretsk direction : Russian troops carried out three assault attacks in the Toretsk and Shcherbinivka areas. Enemy bomber aircraft were particularly active in the Toretsk, Kostyantynivka, and Petrivka areas, which indicates attempts to exert intense pressure on defensive positions.
Increasing activity on the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions
The intensity of fighting remains high in the Pokrovsky direction , where the occupiers carried out 36 assault and offensive operations, maintaining great activity in the areas of Sukhaya Balka, Myrolyubivka, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, Novogrodivka, and Selydovoye.
in the Kurakhiv direction , where Ukrainian defenders resisted enemy attacks near Ostrivske, Ilyinka, Novoselidivka, Kreminna Balka, and other settlements.
Also, in the Vremiv direction, two attempts by Russian troops to break through to Trudove were recorded, but neither of them brought success to the occupiers.
Situation assessment
As the intensity of hostilities increases, Ukrainian soldiers continue to repel enemy attacks, preventing them from gaining new positions. However, the threat of further shelling and airstrikes remains high, creating additional challenges for the defense and the civilian population in the east of the country.
